We just bought a new 2009 International with a Terex XT 60 lift on it. This is a forestry unit. My question is about tying it down. It has a strap on the upper boom near the turret. But, there is no strap for the lower boom. When driving down the road (mostly when the box is empty) you can hear the boom bouncing and banging once in a while. The truck is being driven properly but I can't help but wonder why there is no strap for the lower boom. Should I put one on? Also, does anyone have any pictures of how the lower boom is strapped?

When you boom down for the day, keep on the down control for a bit, for both the upper and lower booms. Put the lower boom in the cradle first, power it down so its seated well, then the same for the upper boom to take all the flex out, actually flexing it the oppsoite way. Strap it down tight. Shouldn't be a problem.

Actually that is exactly how I do it. I guess they have something built in so you can't over"tighten" the boom down with the controls and wreck something.
