Im looking into buying a surface grinder or similar machine to do the knives in house,a proper machine anyone know of any decent machines set up for knives?thanks.

i think that grinder only works on the knives to suit there machines.

The Tormeks only cost $400-600 dollars (over here)and are supposedly great in this application. Personally I freehand grind using naught but an adjusted tool rest on a bench grinder with perfectly pleasing results.

Youd just have to get an angled plate to adjust it for your blades.

I emailed them timber it was a no-go unfortunantly,i have a retired toolmaker looking for a machine,he says you can get a good new surface grinder with magnetic chuck from china or taiwan at reasonable price.
