This will be a thread where I post progress to my latest project, and a couple videos from a Makita 6401. I will post vids as I progress with the saw to be a respectable woods saw.
First is bone stock with round ground Stihl Rs chain. New off the reel. 7T rim
Second is the same saw with a square chain ground by Dennis Cahoon. This was a round ground chain that was turned into square, gullet cleaned and rakers set at .030 (from the best I can measure). This is not a race chain, just a square sharpened chain work chain. Thanks again Dennis!
3rd is the same saw with muffler mod and D.C. square chain.

Timing is roughly:
stock round =7.41 sec
stock square=6.50 sec
muffler modded square=6.0 sec
Shows that a good work chain and simple muffler mods can improve performance.
