Yes, it is a good price. Yes, best in it's class (the DCS7901 that is). How about service, support, warranty work, and spare parts? What do they stock for parts? How quick do they ship? Do they actually know the product. Do they take the time to pay attention to the little details, like making sure the saw is setup correctly. There is a reason the price is so low. I'm not saying not to give them your business. Some people are comfortable with, even enjoy, working on saws themselves, and don't need the service support. There are just always trade offs.

Actually looking at some of the other saws that they are offering...prices are actually pretty good. TM, you ever run the 9010 or the 330TH? If so, how were they?

I don't think the PS9010 or PS3300TH are standouts in particular, but I have not used either of them personally. I think Stihl has both those classes wrapped up, with the MS660 and the MS200T. Not that either saw is bad, and for the right price would be worth consideration.

Thanks, woodshop.

Kennesm, Makita still seems to have their horsepower numbers wrong. The DCS-7901 should be 6.3 Hp, just like the Dolmar. Then they have the DCS540 at 3.3, should be 3.0.

Kennesm, hey neighbor...I'm up near Dallas. Just wanted to say I just purchased the 6401 from the service center north of Dallas. I used it tonight after work to fell a tree in my yard. Butter buddy. Went right through it with no bogs, virtually no vibration - NO problem. Very smooth. I would highly recommend it.

Hello Moze
Good to see another north Texas boy!
Do you happen to have the name & number of where you bought that beast?
