Any tips on stopping bar oil from leaking? I've heard about putting silicone on the oil pickup tube where it presses into the crankcase. Anyone done this or any other fixes? How much disassembly is required? Saw is new.
thanks, Bundy

Oil is not coming from the oil cap. Looks like it is coming from near the bar mount bolt area.

The Oiler pick up hose is located pretty near the top of the oil tank. The vent valve is below the muffler at the top side of the tank as well. does the saw leak when setting upright or when laying on its side?

Scott,
It leaks when setting upright as if it were siphoning oil from the tank to the bar slot. Is there any way to adjust oil output?

Scooterbum,
I contacted the dealer and he wants me to file a warranty claim at a Makita service center. He told me before buying it that the saw had adjustable oiling but it doesn't. I have only used it once.
