A timed "shootout" is being planned between the Dolmar 7300, 7900 and the Husqvarna 372xp, and 385xp (if we can find a 385xp).............stay tuned.

I took mine (7900) to the saw shop where I work nights. The owner told me no less than 6 times I should sell it and get an 046...........that ain't gonna happen! We did some test cuts behind the shop, he still tells me I should sell it but has told some of the guys on day shift that "that saw rips a$$". We made a display for used saws by plunge cutting a standing log and sticking the saws in the cuts, Stihl saws sticking out of cuts I made with my 7900.

My 7900 to compare to a husky would be maybe a mod 385 but it would have to be a strong 385 , i donot think a mod 372 is as strong but i will know more soon i have 2 double truck loads of wood to cut up , 24 bushcords so i will have more time on it by then and i think it will cut very close to my 066or my geared up 3120,

my daughter was watching a sitcom friday night while i was playing a game with the boys. Hope and Grace or something like that. anyway, part of the story line was that the guy had to cut down a dead tree that his daughter's tree house was in. darned if he didn't come in with a Makita 7901! Looked like a stock muffler though, so one of you guys missed one.

No we didnot miss any , i know where there is around 40 makita 7900's but the factory sense like they just donot want you to have any of them so they sit at the factory getting dust of them here in Canada

I am very happy with the 7900 and i know about the 90 cc saw but not sure if it is much faster plus something is wrong on the horsepower rating somewhere because if the rating is right on the 7900 at 6.4 hp or something like that and is cutting as fast as the 7.8 hp saws it just does not add up

Cant wait to see a Ported 7900 from each builder and see who has the strongest.

As far as 385's go I will have one at Dan's. Dan is in the process of Porting my 385. I hope its going to be strong. I was told it would out cut a 7900 ported, so the proof will be in the cuts. Its gonna be a good comparison. I am very interested to see what runs stronger.
