Coil for a 1MG.

Ha, this is funny, but I may need a coil for a 1MG saw. It appears that mine is shorted to ground internally. Take care. Lewis Brander.

What NO coils around?

Well Moe, looks like there isn't a coil to be had. Anyone know where there might be a coil laying around? Someone must be sitting on one somewhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Lewis.

Looks like I may have a wall hanger; to bad, the rest of the saw looks like it's hardly been used. If may try to fit another coil to the mounting plate if it will clear the flywheel. Do you know how rare old malls like this are?

Mall Parts List:

Thanks Ray. I saved the list to my computer for future refference. I spent the last 2 days working on the old Mall Magneto and finally got her working. She now throws a brite blue spark and runs like a top. The old coil had some cracks in the outside plastic and I cleaned them out, put some dielectric insulating grease in them and wrapped one layer of electrical tape around the coil. When I would spin the flywheel by hand I could hear a spark jump somewhere inside the mag. so figured she was shorting somewhere. After using the grease and tape trick, it looks like it solved the problem. Thanks to all for their email replies, suggestions and help. Everyone take care. Lewis Brander.

Ok, now since thats dealt with, does anyone have some parts for a 7G? I'm needing a few things.

Mall 7G.

Hello Robert. If I had the parts you needed I'd be more than willing to help you get your saw going. Looks like you may have to get another saw for the parts you need off ebay or use the one you have for parts for another saw. I try to always get a complete saw whaen I'm looking at a saw. Cousse if you have the time and patience and do some searching the parts may be had at some point in time. I've even made parts for a saw or two. Hopefully soon, the parts you need will show up. You take care. Lewis.

thats just it, I only need minor stuff on mine, mainly a throttle cable, the oiler cable, and oiler hose for the chain, plus the throttle lever. no logic behind buying a parts saw for just those little parts.

I'm with Lewis on the parts saw. Never hurts to have extra parts, either for your runner, to trade, or sell to someone in need. It's nice to be able to help someone get an old saw going. Storage, however, can be an issue (at least it is with my wife). Aw ra best!

Thats the issue as to why I dont want to get a parts saw, they take up so dang much space, which is already a rare thing in my home. that, and the 7G powerhead ALONE weighs almost what I do, and shipping it costs a small fortune.
