Does anyone here have or know where to find a carb rebuild kit for a mcculloch model 73? This is a mcculloch brand carb.Even just a working diaphragm would be great. I know this is a tough one but the saw is ready to work with except for this one item so I'm hopin for some luck. Thanks guys.

Diaphragms:

Hello hoss: I've made diaphragms for my Disston D0-101 and am in the process of making a diaphragm for a McCulloch 4-30 I just received. Now waiting 6-8 hrs for the glue/adhesive to cure and dry. Next will be repairing the primer pump then on to making new valves for the fuel pump. Managed to finally get a PM out to you so check your AS mail box. I'll post some pics as the restoration goes along under the Lewis Brander collection in the EHP Porting/Hunter saws-n-sales section of the forum. Take care. Lewis Brander.

Just a shot in the dark, Tired Iron in NY, 315 386 4809, or ask Randy Duncan at 937 927 5429. If they don't have it they may know where to look. In my stock Mac days I found quite a few NOS parts guys. I'll dig around.

Carburetor Diaphragm.

Hello to all. The carb diaphragm I had drying or curing is doing fine and is in the carb at present. Right now I'm waiting on the arrival of a fuel pump valve ass'y for my 4-30. I've rebuilt the primer and checked the fuel pump diaphragm, it's OK, but the valve is shot, but have one on its way along with some other missing parts I needed. If the parts show up this week I'll have her possibly running this weekend. Does anyone know the initial carb adjustments for these old Mac carbs? I initially set the High speed needle to 2 turns and the Idlle to 2 turns to start with. I see that when the primer is operated it puts gas directly down the impulse tube to the crankcase. I always thought that the primer put fuel through the fuel pump and into the carb. This is a learning experiance for me. Have never worked on one of these old saws and haven't seen one since I was a kid. Should be interesting to hear her start and run. OK. talk later. Lewis.
