Hello all. I have a Pro Mac 1000 that I would like to sell. The saw was a good running saw and really had no major issues. Because of this I decided to initiate operation deep clean. I tore down the saw and cleaned it including removing the flywheel and getting it polished up. After the deep cleaning was assembly, and here is where I messed up, bad.
When bolting the flywheel back on I managed to strip the threads on the crank. I dont think the threads can be rapaired.
The saw had some old thick oil in it that I cleaned out. It seemed like the pump may have been clogged but I'm not sure, I never got the manual oiler to work. It also had a loose plug wire but nothing major. And has a broken starting pawl.
The saw ran great. Has good compression, I could probably get a reading. The piston looks good. Recoil spring has been replaced with a new one. Has new plug and filter.
All in all its a good saw. I just don't have the time and money to fix it now so I'd like to sell it. Will accept best offer that I receive this week. Shipping will be flat $40 to anyone in the lower 48
Thanks!!

Here is an album full of 40 pictures of the saw. I assembled it and disassembled it for pictures.
Also i forgot to note that the saw has a 22" bar with pretty new looking square chisel 404 chain.

Hate to see a cool old saw ruined by a dumb problem. Sorry about the bad turn of events, hopefully someone can use the parts or buy the whole kit and buy a good used crank to put it back together.

I had a PM1000 myself and it was a cool old bruiser of a 100cc saw.

Good luck to You!

Yeah, I have ruined one or two nice things when everything aligned wrong and a wrench slipped or something messed up that hasn't ever before... It is seemingly inevitable if you wrench on enough stuff.... Who's to say there wasn't a boogered thread on the nut or crank from a previous owner or a hack mechanic and you happened to be the discoverer by bad luck.

For those interested there is a NOS crank on ebay. A bit pricey
but it's been up there for quite awhile. May be you could make
an offer on it. If you could buy it right as with the saw you could
rebuild this saw with seals, bearings, gaskets and have a nice
100cc saw. I'd make the seller an offer but i don't need another.

If you want to play the auction game, list it on e-Bay. This is not an auction site, list a price for it or delete your ad.
No, not playing an auction game. Nobody's offer is going to be made public. I'm not going to make people bid against each other. I'm simply going to take the best offer I receive this week. Thanks for the friendly advice.

It is an auction game you are playing, whether you make any bids public. If you are fishing for the highest bid take it to e-Bay where you will have the greatest exposure. I don't play those games, if you don't have enough guts to price your item I am not interested.
