Well I've started tearing down my 1-72. It doesn't seem to have spark. I got to the points and they didn't seem too worn, so I lightly sanded them and put in a coil that I'm pretty sure produced spark out of a 1-51.
It still has no spark. Are the coils not interchangable? I suppose my next effort should be to try a different condenser (also out of a 1-51).
Does anyone have any common experience with these early 60's Macs?
I dont know if it could be a bad kill switch, but it is pretty oily/dirty up in the handle where the switch is.
Also, I have tried finding some parts for this saw and can't seem to have any luck. For the most part the saw is complete aside from a missing hood and a broken rear lower handle piece (pictured below). If you have any of these pieces in decent shape and would be willing to part with them, send me a PM and maybe we can work out a deal.
