I took the carb apart on my 795 today. Things where looking good until i found massive amounts of rusty stuff in the diaphram. The little lever that meters how much gas flows was frozen up with gunk. when i took off the lever and the needel i bent the lever out of whack. I put the saw back together adn ofcourse it would not run without constantly hitting the primer button. Can anyone help me in how to set the lever so it will properly meter the fuel in the diaphram. Thanks.

I think its time to replace some gaskets. Hopefully you've got the tillotson carb instead of the McCulloch one.

Metering Lever Adjustments.

I believe that if you did a search you will find that it was mentioned that the metering lever ( the part opposite the needle) should be adjusted from .000" (flush) to .010" above the reses the lever sits in. I may be wrong, not the first time, but I'm sure that Al or someone will correct me. If it's set too low it will have a tendancy to run lean and too high, will have a tendancy to run rich or flood. Take care. Lewis.
