It's a variant of the PM610. IIRR it has a compression release and also used thinner rings (more power). Other than that it's the same as a 610.

It's a later version of a PM 610,60 cc.In spite of the bad rap these things have, they aren't a bad saw at all.Maybe a little heavy compaired to todays saws and a bit slower but still an ok saw.If it runs as described in the ad with 2 extra bars,50 bucks or so would be a good deal.

What he said ^^

... It's one of the more 'plastic-y' MAC's ..

I personally like the metal guys better:

I got a PM610... big, ugly, loud, heavy, gas hog.... but has decent power.

Like Al said... the 650 is just a later version of the 610 with a compression release.

If it's a later version of the 610 it's a good saw. My first saw was a Mac 610pm and it was one of the best I ever owned.

Other than a tendancy to vapor lock and be a bit heavy, I like those saws pretty well. They still sound pretty cool! As you can see by the signature, I still use one (610) every now and then. They seem to have decent torque and you can lean on them pretty hard without "stalling" them, but you don't have to--if the tree is on the ground. Just hang on and the weight of the saw will do all the work.

The first big saw I got was a mac 610 tough old saw cut alot of wood with it heavy, loud but alot of low end. Sold mine to a friend and he still has it. About a year ago a tornado came though and he helped some friends clean up he pull that saw out of storage after a year ( he uses it very little) but he said it ran great. I know 4 or 5 people with 610's and they have had good luck with them. If you are lookin for cheap power the old macs are good ,610,10-10,700,805. Just getting harder to find parts for. But that saw was before I saw the light and bought a stihl.

mac 15 not one of the good macs

Bill at Fayetteville Equipment still has Mac parts. Or Ebay. Mac probably made several million 610's over a 20 or 25 year period.

When Buffalo got their early snow storm last fall I went to help my dad & brother clean up the broken limbs. Brother's neglected 455R wouldn't start so we used my PM655 and Monkey Wards 610 clone.
