Well, this thing is old, really old, and ive stripped the whole thing and cleaned it all out, all the fillters, everything. I tried to start it and it will run but if i put it in idle it dies. Ive done this about ten times and it just wont idle. Help if you can. Thanx in advance.

How high do you have to rev it before it will stay running? If you turn the idle screw all of the way in does it stay running? Does it accelerate smoothly or do you have to fight it?

I've never heard of a Pro Mac 500.I have heard of a Pro Mac 510 which is just a latter version of a Mini Mac,little 2.3 cubic inch bumble bee.

More times than not,the idle screw is set too low allowing the butterfly to completely close. If not that, the low speed adjustment could be set too lean.

Now a rarity but happens once in a blue moon.On certain carbs they have a bolted in place butterfly, rarely this could have came loose allowing the little slot to become disoreinted with the idle jet.I fought a problem like this until Rocky J.,on another forum brought this fact to my attention in an on-line conversation concerning a Stihl 020 T or 200T as whatever the case was.
