It seems McCulloch has never advertised the hp ratings on any of their saws.I have often wondered what my old SP 60 is rated at.My guess would be close to 4.5 .Anyone have an exact number or a really close guess?
I have seen a few guys running 24" and even 28" bars on the 10-10.Not bad at all for a 54-56 cc saw.My old SP 60 is semi-retired ,man that thing is loud. But I get her out and play a few times a year.Thats a close guesstimate, if you look at a MS361 it rated between 4.4 and 4.6 ,but I think the torque numbers would be different. The attraction of the McCulloch saws are the torque, they usually don't have trouble pulling a longer bar for their cc or swapping the rim sprocket to an 8 pin with a standard size bar.
Even if you dyno that saw and it shows 3hp the torque is whats gonna get that long bar through the cut with you leaning on it.
You are right. I need to put one in my truck tool box. The 028 goes there. I need 5 saws to cover all the bases. Maybe not 90cc. I am 63 years old and only 5’7”. How about a 70cc saw.
I remember that I want a survival saw to keep in my camper, it is not my saw that I would use to cut wood in the countryside
I have used almost a gallon in the last few weeks of mix.
4.595859really close guess?
I thought those numbers seemed a bit low for a 70cc saw. That put an 029 with more power lol. Thanks for the info.Im sorry,I am kind of new to this, could you tell me how to find post 40?Thanks againMemory was wrong; PM700 was advertised as 4.7hp or 3.5kw. PM655 (61cc) as 4.2,hp or 3.1 kw, 1010S and PM645 (57cc) as 3.4 hp or 2.5.kw,
See post 40 of What is the ultimate McCulloch saw based on 10 series chassis.
