Greetings from England.

Bought a Mac Super Pro 60, misunderstanding that it’s a non-runner although he did have it running before putting it on ebay. So let’s assume it will run.

Problem:
Can’t get it to start and don’t know starting procedure (no handbook). Mac / Husky Uk are no help, they can’t even trace the model. I can’t find a handbook or anything on the net.

I’m using 20:1 petrol/oil mix. The air filter looks a bit iffy but taking it out doesn’t help. It is sparking on turnover. Spark plug is ok but can’t really see much petrol on it, but can smell fumes through exhaust.

This is how I’d imagine it should start from cold:
Ignition on, choke fully out/closed, throttle locked fully open. Turn over a couple of times.
Push choke in half way, pull starter till it starts, set choke fully in/open, rev up until reaching idle speed.

Question:
Is this right? How many pulls to get it started?
And what’s the little red button next to the exhaust for – it goes in and out about ¼”, I’ve assumed it’s a cut-out so it needs to be out to work.
Is the machine self-priming?

I hate 2-stroke engines.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

This must be your first Mcc...

You be alot better postin in the chainsaw section with AS,,,but I'll try to help since you done posted on here....
First the red button next to the exhast,,thats the decompression button...Push it in and if you can tell alot of diffrence tryin to start it unless the rings are toast....Cold start,,should have a half trottle button on the side handle,,pull the trigger and push it in,,,,pull the choke out till she pops,,,and when it does,,,push the choke all the way in.....All the Mcc's I ran,,they flood easy....If you flooded it,,,, wot,, choke in and pull a few times,,,that should clean her out and prob fire....You can tell if it's flooded if your muffler starts getting wet....I always run mine 40:1 with stihl mix......Good luck,,and hope this helps...
