The pruning workshop Sunday with Ed Gilman (who wrote the book after all) sounds like a high point. Lansing's an easy drive from OH and IN and much of ON, isn't it?
Other notes on Michigan ISA:
The president is not a utility, academic or bureaucrat guy whose involvement is underwritten by a big institution. He is a Commercial Tree Care guy who's involved because he knows being good to trees by working for ISA is good for business.
If you've looked at Ed Gilman's Illustrated Guide to Pruning, you know he's on top of current thinking on good pruning practices, and a great guy to get some tips from.
If you trim trees and haven't seen his book, find a copy and check it out.
Cambistat is a great product to use along with other tree care services. It can make you money and help you succeed in getting ongoing work as you add value to customers' trees.
EAB is a pandemic we all should know about--When and where should ash trees be cut down for the species' own good?
Lots of other info in the sessions--data collection, risk management, pesticide use, employee mgt., etc. etc.
If you're in the general area why not stop in?
