Well guys. After sending my trusted jonsered 2050 turbo off to a member here to his new home and reading all the posts on the Husky 545 and jonsered 2252 I decided to pull the trigger and make the move and by all means the best saw I've bought in a long time. This will be a dedicated firewood saw for seven to ten cords a year so she is staying stock. Ergonomics are exceptional, power is unbelievable for a 50 cc saw. Only thing I did not like was starting it as she is easy to foul but otherwise two thumbs up. I did want the 545 to match the rest of my saws but this unit was 400 bucks to my door with a full Warranty so I couldn't pass on the deal. I cut a ton of wood on one tank of fuel. 20150130_152415.jpg 20150130_124750.jpg 20150130_124435.jpg 20150130_124420.jpg 20150130_124408.jpg 20150130_124339.jpg ne tank of fuel, no smoke whatsoever with the auto tune. Here's a few pictures.

Nice choice for a saw, you will be very happy i'm sure.

I love mine. It handles very well and cuts very well even in hardwood with the 66DL 325 bar. I just got a ported 550xp so it has been occupying my time right now, so i have not cut with the 2252 for a while. :(

How much actual difference do you find with the ported 550?

Worth the investment or no?

Definitely worth it. I can use the one saw for limbing and larger diameter bucking, when usually i would need to stop and swap to a much larger and heavier saw. Saves my back and arms when will be on the saw for many hours. I have been taking it to work with me everyday since i got it and it still is not completely broken it yet. Terry's work is first rate! All i can say is WOW! :happy:That kind of power in such a light small well balanced saw is unbelievable. Stock power is listed as 3.75 hp. The ported saw from Terry would have to be 1 hp increase over stock. I was running it side by side with my muff modded 372XP (with a blue coil from a 346xp), almost identical cutting speeds in 15" hardwood logs. It does run out of fuel quicker when compared to stock due to the port work, but it is not as bad as i thought it would be. You are cutting so much more wood it probably is negligible.

As far as value for money, well a stock new 550xp over here is $1349 AUD. Bought the saw new for $500 USD, port work and shipping was $375 USD. Even with the currency conversion I'm way in front and have a stronger and better cutting saw. :)

Will be putting another tank of fuel through her on Monday if the weather holds out. No fatigue from running her yesterday. I like moded stuff as well but I wanted to keep my investment at the minimum.

I just wanted to see what all the "ported saw" fuss was about. ;) If i did not buy the ported 550xp i would be $1000 better off and just as happy.

Honestly the 2252 has to be one of the best bang for your buck saws out there. Late last year i was using it a lot on cleanups of large fallen trees. Even in Eucalyptus hardwood and even blackwood it was cutting with authority in wood as big and bigger than the 66DL 325 bar and chain. I have been really impressed with the AT system and have noticed that i am cutting bigger wood with no dramas compared to if i had an older manual carb saw.

The little 2252 just ate up this hard and tough blackwood trunk. I was very surprised at how well it cut this trunk. Normally i would have just gone with a much larger saw. Only when it got over 19" did i choose to switch to the PM700.
Honestly i would sell one of my Dolmar 5105's before i let this saw go. Yep i like it that much! :D

Well guys. Mighty mouse has left but his cousin has arrived. My brother inaway loved it so much he gave me what I paid after about ten tanks of fuel so I sniper stole this 545 from eBay. Here she is.1461438717450.jpg20160423_151325.jpg 20160423_151441.jpg20160423_154621.jpg

First impression is this one is easier to start. They have improved the auto tune a bit but otherwise quite the power house for 50cc. Best bang for a fire wood cutter period.
