can you call another dealer?
(eh, if you don't want to read my little rant about bad manners simple answer is no gaskets left in state, on back order, takes time. 338xpt has very bad rep around here don't think there is much demand for parts.)
for ranting, read on:
weeeellll, there is a little story to this; i ordered the gaskets for a 338xpt from one dealer who said they would be there next week,
when i go to pick them up they are in a stihl packet and i say 'that's strange, you get your gaskets from stihl?' and they say 'of course' so i shrug my shoulders and look at the pack in my hand...
038,
ahhhh, i say sorry we must have miscommunicated i was after 338xpt not 038xpt the dealer says oh and tells me the husky ones would be there next week,
next week i go in and ask if 3 husky gaskets had shown up and the 2 sales ppl look at each other the first one kindly expalins to the other i was the guy who thought his 338xpt was a stihl 038, stupid customers and all that, no sorry your gasket has not arrived yet,
on principle i don't care about being talked down about when i don't care about the ppl talking and vice versa so i just asked blunt when i should come in to pick up the gaskets and the dealer shrugs his shoulders and looks blank (he good at this) so i say 'oh i just come pick them up when i feel like it then'
he says this is fine and i leave store planning never to feel like picking them up.
i realise i being an ??????? there but seriously i have bought a few items from this store no need to be their 'annoying' customer
so i order from another dealer, who kindly explained that seeing as the goods were on back order (prob from some pesky kiwi ordering 6 lol) it would be a 3 week wait. Also the state i live in, WA australia, has been tenderly given the nickname Wait Awhile, australia, things just slow around here.
i think if i ordered 1 the first time there would have been a chance i would have recieved in a week, but i had to stock up lol
Now i sleep happy with a little gleam in my eye from the knowledge that the first dealer, Mr Diplomacy, has 6 useless exhaust gaskets sitting on his shelf gathering dust taking up stock space shedding carciogenic fibres into his rotting lungs. HA.
