I got the saw out and milled what was left of a tree I cut last spring. Other than bar nuts falling off and cutting through the aluminum rail dogs it went pretty well.I started with 38RP and then reground it close to what Malloff describes in his book. The Malloff grind worked well and is still cuts well after 6 cuts.

The chainsaw mill seems to cut faster than I remember.

Half the log made good planks, the other half was full of knots so slabbed it and will rip them with an electric saw. I can get some decent wood for furniture out of the shorter pieces.

I used a 20" bar for this and it wasn't long enough so I finished the middle cuts with wedges and split them apart.

I have 5 @24 foot Black Oaks out back and I will be getting out the longer bar for them.

Made a White Oak 6.5"X7"X8' beam today. Took about 1 hour including set up and clean up. This one may be cut down into 3x's. I am still thinking about the barn design.
