Nice looking wood!
Is it an optical illusion or is the saw bar not parallel with the frame?
And before anyone else gets there.... where does the hose from your fuel tank hook into the saw?

... He only hooks that fuel tank up for the long boards...... :)

I'm wondering about that too. The inboard mill uprights also look lower than the outboard uprights. Unless it's deliberate I'll guess the powerhead end slipped. That's a problem with the bolt only locking mechanism for the uprights and why threaded rod is worth using.

Nice looking wood though.

And good to see getting that log off the ground! Onya.

Heh I think that's happened to pretty much everyone here when they were starting out. I still have a 6"X7"X8" unintentionally tapered beam that I cut my first summer. It resulted in some colorful language at the time!

Bob, I don't remember seeing that pic before. Took me a while - good thing the foreground is OOF; makes your "oversight" harder to see. Not as bad as the Echo ad somebody posted a couple weeks ago though!

I've had the same thing happen with my GB mill. :)

I really like the mill, just had to learn the hard way to recheck the clamping mechanism knob!

That saw is the scored 066 I got for nothing in 2008. I fitted a Bailey's BB kit to it and had problems with the piston skirt hitting the crankcase. Bailey's very graciously sent me a no cost replacement and all is good except I need to get the squish down a bit more - it's still in pieces from last Feb! I want to reduce the squish by machining the jug base down but just haven't gotten around to it.

The photo was taken just after I put the first BB on and was in too much of a hurry to take the photo for the CS forum - man did those guys give me some stick over that!

Cheers SP. Yeah I was going to do that but I am going to eventually mod the muffler similar to the 880 on the BIL mill.

those tapered boards allow for water run off:laugh::laugh:,also found the top of the mill where the thickness gauge bolts to vibrated out nearly 1", that doesn't help things either:dizzy:

saw horse upgrade

decided to upgrade to something alittle stronger yesterday,15 feet logs getting a bit to heavy for the old horses

OK splitpost...I have to ask. How did you put the fitting on the water bottle for your oiler? I'm not keen on my setup and really wanted to use some plastic bottle but couldn't figure out a nice way to stick a hose on it. What did you use? I assume...leak free. Don't mean to hijack your post.

Nice milling position, Hows the timber?

yeah pretty good bob ,milled up into three 8inch wide 2 1/2 inches thick by 15 foot long, knocking up some rails for a fence job, knocked those trees over about 3yrs ago with my crawler and decided to salvage them the other day

thats alright ,just use any softdrink bottle, in the middle of the base its thicker, must be where the machine finishes them off, just drill and tap to suit the tap your using,i used one of an old victa lawnmower because its a tapered thread

Splitpost..thanks. That looks like a fuel tank valve! From a victa mower you say.....I've never seen that kind of mower. Great idea. I think I have a fuel tank from a Briggs and Stratton floating around with one of those. Thanks for taking the time for a photo. Nice clean barn eh?
