Milled up some Red Cedar that Treeclimber101 gave me. Got about 600 BDFT of wood, what a suprise from what the logs looked like. Gonna build some chests for the kids when i get time. That might be in 30 years though. Had a few ant hole in the one piece.

Looks similar to some of the western juniper I have milled however the heartwood of the juniper is not quite so vivid red. It makes beautiful furniture when you get a board that will stay straight, but it seems to lose some of its color over the years. Still, I'll be milling more as it was pretty easy to mill.

Eastern red cedar is actually a juniper. It is my favorite wood to cut, since it smells good and actually cleans up the bandsaw blade. It is hard to find good, straight pieces, but the lumber is well worth it! Looks like you've got a nice pile of lumber, and well stacked for air drying. Thanks for posting.
