yes youll love it , i put a 10 '' x 10'' x 1/4 " plate on the bottom welded tight .makes it stand up on it own . I cut a notch in top half of log maybe 1'' deep holds good cause of lip on jack .
 
Looks like it's a milling Labor Day Weekend, once we are back in we will finish up the log nearest the wagon then pull the other section of Hemlock up then pop that top off and mill some boards.

We did order a Hi-Lift Jack which will make it easier on the back.

Try building one of these for lifting logs. They work great and with the additional plate it should be very stable. You could also make additional stabilizer legs like thew one's BobL made for his.

I talked with a guy who welds and said he would do it if I want, very nice.
