Alright guys I have been working on and off for the last 6 months to get ready to build my barn/garage. I bought a mill and I am milling up all the lumber my self. This is my first attempt at milling so not everything is perfect although I am now getting pretty proficient.

I will be adding lots of picture over the next 7 weeks of the whole process including the excavation, foundation, milling and construction. The project should be done mid October. All the lumber is hemlock, the larger beams of 3"x10"x16', most of the other lumber will be 2x6's and 1x's.

You've been busy.

I was eyeing one of those mills last year.
But was afraid of the thin rails.

Looks like it is holding up well.
How do you like the saw??

I would think that setup would run all over a chainsaw mill for the $ spent.

I am very happy with the mill, its exactly what I expected for the $$. Larger would have been nice, but I knew that from the get go. Honestly the thin rails have been no problem at all, and I have had some huge logs on them. Many logs where big enough that I needed to do a significant about of trimming with the chainsaw to let the saw roll over them.

The only "issues" with the saw are the measuring guide is useless in my opinion, the log clamping system is functional but not awesome and the 6.5 hp motor while adequate is a little under powered. I would recommend it, the company is very helpful and responsive. The mill works great right out of the box and its very very easy to build track extensions super cheap.

I have cut well over 5,000 board feet this month already and not a single hiccup.
