Wind storm took down a white pine in the back yard. Snapped it off about 20' above the ground. On the mill is a chunk that was close to 30 up,, yes it was a big tree! This one is short due to rot and splitting. Normally white pine would have gone to the burn pile, especially since it was a yard tree but I figured there was little chance for hardware 30' up so I took the chance. Made some 4x6 to raise my logs up between the rails, some 4x4, 2x6, 1x6 and 1x4 to use for blocking and barn repairs. Wife wants the bottom slab for ??? Still have a couple 8' logs to mill when I decide what to make from them. The JP is running great and cuts true as could be hoped for, soon will have to learn the blade sharpening deal as I hit some unseen dirt when removing the right side waste.
