Is it just me or do they only have one of those saws running?
 
yep.looks like just one. i dont think it would hurt the other saw as its just free spinning on the clutch sprocket. that may be the only bar they had that was long enough?
 
I agree with BB, they are making very heavy weather of it given the power they have at hand.

I reckon both power heads were running but the sawdust is only going to come out on one side.

When I see fine sawdust and see-sawing like that, that to me means blunt chain and/or rakers set too high.

See all that sawdust on that log - dat bad, it piles up under the rails and bends and the mill and bar which in turn puts extra stress on the power heads.

Looks like they have a few things to learn about CS millin.
 
After watching the other videos there thats some very interesting stuff. Thanks for posting. When I listen to the saws, I think they are both running. 50,000 year old trees may be very hard.

Where did you get 50,000 years old? The bark is still on it.
