I'm looking at a Morbark 20/36 drum chipper. This chipper has about 110 horse diesel engine, and 980 hours. It is a 17" chipper, made in 1999.

Anybody have an opinion on this machine?

If in good condition, what would you pay?

I personally would not buy it. I had one and it was the worst chipper I ever owned. Discharge chute clogged all the time when chipping stringy material. Struggled on logs 10 inches and over. The hp is just too low. The blades are very difficult to get clearances set just right. You have to fool with a bunch of shims. The feed plate below the feed roller is made of only 3/8 inch steel with hardly any structural support. I had mine bent and bowed out and replaced it with 1/2 inch steel plate, which was also starting to do the same thing. Overall it was a poorly made chipper and one of the happiest days of my life was when someone bought it. That experience soured me from Morbark, although I have heard nothing but good things about their 2400.
