Ok so, I am new to this site and don't really know if this kind of topic is really appropriate for this site but I figured you guys could still probably help. So here's the deal. I have a fire pit at my house and I want to put some big logs around it for seats. I have no issue with cutting down the tree and cutting it up to lengths of like 8ft. I plan on having four, 8ft long sections of log. The problem is that where I'll be getting the logs is like a 1/4 of a mile away from the fire pit. I can't just drag the logs because I can't destroy the property between the fire pit and the woods. I have a truck I can put the logs into but I need a way to get them into the truck. Any suggestions would be great. I do have a tractor but its just a small 18hp Kubota with a 4 ft bucket

use the tractor to lift one end of the logs and put it in the back of the truck and then lift the other end and push it with the tractor..

or, get a trailer with a winch or a rollback to move them..

Log dollies work great but 8' is a little long for a dolly I would think. If you've got a trailer that would be much easier to load them on than the bed of a truck.

Just to cover some more options...

If you'll be doing a lot of it, maybe you can justify purchasing a "log arch" or "logging arch" for your tractor/ATV/truck.

If you have a rear hitch with hydraulic lift arms on your tractor, you might get away with a drawbar & clevis hooks (and logging chain/choker) to lift one end off the ground and skid it to your destination. Of course, it's better to do this when then ground is frozen or really dry. If you do this, make sure to get some counterweight in your front-end bucket and follow the precautions on how not to pop a wheelie and flip your tractor.
