I recently low limbed my pine tree. What can i put on exposed areas to protect from disease?

nothing. best option. It will seal itself off.

In our neck of the woods we have a serious pine bark beetle problem so we try not to work on pines at this time of year. If we have to, we seal the cuts to minimize the attraction to the beetles. Use a light, asphalt-based spray (generally available at most garden centers).
