Sure thing. I'm in for the night but will get that done in the am. It's not a subtle leak but for the life of me I can't tell exactly where it's coming from. Can you post a picture so I can see the area of concern. I beleave there is only a few places that actual tank could leak from: the vent fuel line fuel cap and the tank itself. A picture would certainly help
Yea that is why I was asking for a picture because you can remove the whole tank on a 170. I would still like to see a picture of that area to try and help out.I had to run the serial number, because you were not describing a ms170.

It's all good man. Good that you found your issue. As far as anything else take a good once over if everything is looks good. You are probably good in my opinion. Good luck with your saw. Have fun. CheersYou've succeeded in outing me as a complete idiot. Of course it's a 171-I took the fan housing off some time ago and it's been laying face-down on my workbench ever since. Not sure how 170 got lodged in my brain, but it did. The issue appears to be with the tank vent. Thanks for locating an engine housing for me though. That seller looks like a pretty good resource. Now that I've got the thing pretty much apart, are there any other bits that I should replace? The thing has run like a top as long as I've had it.
