Just picked up a ms 310 today for 150 bucks just wondering if there any good i figured i couldnt go wrong at that price seems hardly used! THANKS for any input!

They aren't a bad saw, one of Stihl's clamshell motor saws, basically a 290 with more displacement, if you ever score the piston or cylinder you can always bolt on a 390 cylinder and piston and have even more power.
The 310 class would be the only saw most do it yourself firewood cutters would ever need. You got yourself a steal at 150.00 if it is a good clean saw. They perform well with a 18" bar.
Rep for finding a good deal.

heres a pic of the saw guy got it and did not used it sat in the house for 6 years it was a good deal

You did really well. Only $150? They run $439 in my area. Looks like new! I like my 290. Won't win any races and weighs a bit more than some, but cuts wood well and is a good bucking saw. A sharp chain and you're good to go. Don't be afraid to take it apart if anything ever goes wrong with it. They're a lot easier to repair than many think. Check out a youtube video called "repairing ms250", another clamshell design. Very straight foward and simple to work on. Enjoy the saw!

Good get, beware the master switch can give ya grief in many it will pop the steel tang over the plastic action arm and fail in function. I am told this is due to operator not grabbing the throttle on before depressing the switch, but I canna fully agree cuz I know I don't do this.

a tad underpowered for the cc but for that price its a steal you should take that fire screen out drill about a half inch hole in the muffler wer that screw goes in richen the carb a half turn or a little more and that makes quite diffrence in response and chain speed
