Has anyone tried a 3/8"x8 sprocket on a MS 361?

The owners manual states 3/8x7, 3/8x8 as options and the IPL show .325x9 as an additional option.

I am going to try the 3/8x8 in combination with 15" bar and . 063 RSC when the saw is broken in. The wood is mostly birch, less than 16" diameter. A few cuts will be full buried - most of them not....

Will the saw be able to sustain enough speed to keep it in the power-band?

This can be adjusted by the depth of the cut, I think you could get it to cut quite fast in the birch and other softer woods.
There is power for some fun in that saw, if you keep 3/8 chain.
I know some has been experementing with Hva 372, 8 pin 17" .325 How you think that worked?

I just switched to an 3/8x8 on my 044 and it really FLYS, even with only the tip of the 18" bar showing out the other side of a maple log, I'd have to STAND on the saw to bog it out...
