What would a fair market value be for a as new Stihl 361 be? The saw has 15 to 20 hours on it, no scratches etc; basically a new saw bought in Dec/06. Thanks, Ed

I bought a 361 powerhead new last January. With tax I paid just over five hundred for it. If the saw is in good shape and basically new figure your price accordingly. Are you the buyer or seller? If you're the buyer ask why the saw is being sold after so little use and try to find out if anything bad (like straight gas) was done to it.

Might check that purchase date again.

Here in Virginia that saw sells for 589.95. If its like new I could get 450.00-475.00 for it in no time flat. Pretty popular saw in my area...............

I agree with Thall. I paid $380 for one and $400 for another one; and, thought I got them both pretty darn cheap for the condition they were in. Plus, I had to pay shipping as I bought one here on AS and the other on eBay.

Tom I'd say you got a good deal on both those saws. I sold a old 025 for a customer not too long ago and got 200.00 for it. That thing was in great shape but it was several years old. The last sell price I recall on the 025 was 269.95. A few weeks ago I sold a MS250 for another customer and got 200.00 for that one too. Sell price new is only 299.95. Prices tend to go based on what kind of shape the saw is in. If that mans MS361 is in new condition he should be able to sell for for no less than a 100-150 than he paid for it.

I am the seller and I paid $580+ change. It is in new condition and I use my 046 because I like it a lot better than the 361, nothing wrong with the 361 at all just to small of a saw for my purposes. Thanks, Ed

Since you bought this saw in the future, Dec/06 then it will take a while to judge your profit or loss.

Sorry about that it was 05, I was 95% asleep.
eguinn, I was just being a smarta$$. If the saw really is "like new" it would probably bring $425 to $500 with tax or shipping. They sell new here for $599.95 + tax with a 24 in. bar and chain. I got one off ebay two months ago. It had only been listed for an hour and already had 3 bids. I did "Buy it Now" for $445 and shipping (shipping was low from a state next door). It is unbelievable for a 59cc saw. Could not be happier.
