What chainsaw do you guy's prefer to use for use with a Granberg Alaskan Mill? The Stihl MS 880 or the Husqvarna 3120?

I also plan on using the Granberg Mini Mill. I plan on doing alot of quarter sawn log milling out of hard wood logs. I'm open to any chain saw brands and models with any tip you guy's care to share.

Thanks

Mike

I have heard alot of good things about the ms 880 and not alot of good things about the husky 3120. The husky has a rev limiter on it and makes it so it does not achieve full potential. I would go with the stihl. I think if you search their is alot of topics about this. Welcome to the site

the 880 also now has a rpm limiter but at 12000 rpm's. I would go for the 880 anyways

I just bought a 3120 for milling. I looked into a ms880 but could not justify the 400-500 price gap. The 3120 works with 3/8 chain, if wanted. Adjusting the chain could be a pain, but have a double end bar and adjust it on that end. I've milled up to 44" with it. I don't see how a rev limiter would come into play while milling. So far so good.
