It's been nearly a year since the MS170/Hutzl 180 convert has come out to play. The beeAuch was less than receptive to a kiss on the cheek and awakening from deep slumber. She was ran dry, dosed with true fuel and then run dry again. Couldn't keep her running without feathering back and forth between choke and high idle. I got this unit as "repair/salvage" and put a cheap Chin/Com long block and adjustable carb is. It was a fun rebuild and the times I've used it has made it worthwhile. I turned the AM H/L carb low out until it would run then rest it to 1-1/2 and it did the trick. Not sure how things got out of kilter. In order to git this carb fitted a few custom holes had to be bored and the stout spring make adjustment deliberate. I believe that the combination of temp change and the rings settling in may have contributed to the mix being off. That's ok, I've got a spare jug.
Old reliable 026 cranked on the 3rd pull.
This weekend we have a Boy Scout campout planned and the land has been recently logged with many tops left for our bon fire. Weather plans to be wet and muddy and the bonfire will hopefully be gigantic. Look for it this weekend on Google earth, Glasgow KY...
