ok, so i'm out in the woods this afternoon for a little "me time". anyway, i notice some timber down and one tree blocking one of our lanes. so i get the 170 out (don't make fun, it's all i needed) and proceeded to buck up and clear what was down.
after cutting for 1/2 hour or so, (i don't think this is a time issue) i went to shut off the saw. i moved the lever up to the off position, but the saw just kept on running. i noticed that if i pushed the lever down, i could "choke it out", and i was gonna try that as a last resort, but before i did, i tried to shut it off one more time. i think i applied more pressure when i moved the lever up, and that time it shut off.
my question is, is this something i should be overly concerned about? is there a cheap plastic mechanism slipping inside the housing? is it a homeowner fix, or should i take it in for service? :help:
should i never run it again (for safety reasons, mind you) and tell the wife i need a 441 for christmas? :biggrinbounce2:
