MS261 Clutch Cover

Hey I have a ms261 (c/cm?) which I guess is considered gen 1. It’s mtronic but has the older style clutch cover with captive bar nuts not the newer style.

Does anyone know if I can change the clutch cover out to the newer style? I know it’s not a direct replacement but does it work with other changes such as adding that black dust cover (1141 021 1130). Any information y’all have would be greatly appreciated!

Additionally does anyone know the part number for the chip deflector that fits that older style cover.

My 261 clutch cover has captive bar nuts and I'll try to swap it with the one from a my 260 and 026 after it warms up today.
AFAIK captive bar nuts were on the newer style clutch covers.

So I definitely have captive bar nuts but it’s not the new space age looking cover that come on the news saws. I was looking to convert it over over to the newer style if possible….and looking for a chip deflector that fits the style I currently have.

Did you ever find out if the new style fits if you buy the black brake cover also?
