Ms261 question

So I finally got my compression gauge in today and put it to work. Checked my 261 and it’s sitting just over 185lbs. I’ve ported the cylinder, base gasket delete opened up the muffler and filed to key on the flywheel to advance the timing. So my question is with the work that’s been done does the compression sound about right?

185 seems high without lathe work unless it’s loaded with assembly oil

No oil. I’ve cut with it several times since I finished the motor. Anything to be concerned about? Is it too high for the saw to last?

No it’ll be fine. Most builders cut the squish .030-.040” and base and still delete the gasket. Those are probably pushing 220 psi and they last fine
