Hi I inherited a Stihl MS310 from my step-father back in Aug 08. I hadn't bothered with trying to use it until the other day when high winds blew several trees down on my property. The saw was awesome, much better then the 14' poulan I own. I know there are some things that I need to fix on the saw my step-father, god rest his soul, didn't take very good care of it. Bar needs changed, and probably the chain sprocket as well. Both are showing their wear. My question is about the manual shows an adjustment for the amount of oil the saw puts out, but I can't find one on the saw. Does the MS310 come with one? or is that some that is on one of the other saws the manual covers? thanks Rodger

Yep... it's located on the bottom of the saw. Small screwdriver makes the adjustment... max it out... you will use about 3/4 of a tank of bar oil per tank of fuel.

Lol my neighbor came by and showed me where it was. The graphic that is suppose be there must have gotten ground off, probably while the saw bounced around in the back of my step-fathers truck. I would have never thought to look in that small hole. thanks

I see you found it. All the way to the right is max and that is where I run all my adjustable oilers.

BTW the clutch cover/sprocket on that saw will run you around $70 if you have it done at a dealers. I let mine go too long and ruined a brand new chain (never been used before) the other day due to a bad sprocket. May have also screwed up the bar. I pick it up tomorrow and will see.
