So, I understand, my saw will be fine w/o one.

That said, I would still like to know what material they were made out of and how thick?

They are NLA from Stihl and I have not spotted one for sale, otherwise.

Is that a CAT muffler or is #19 used on all versions? It is there to keep from boiling the oil in the oil tank. Looks thicker than most I have seen. Usually these are just reflective foil with PSA adhesive.
 
It's on the 441, 441-w, and 441 c-q.

Not on the z, vwz, rvwz, rz, cqz versions. No idea what that Z stands for.

No CAT. The muffler shows no sign of anyone being in there...and, it's just an empty SS can.

Yes, I have seen Stihl saws with that foil you mention. This seems to be something else.
