I have heard recently that there may be a slightly larger fuel tank available for the MS460. Does anyone know the part number or has anyone heard of this?

I believe the 460 tank is larger than the 046 tank. But nothing after that so far as I know.

Hi Folks-
Our local Stihl manager informed us that yes, the 460 tank is slightly larger. However- All of the new 460 tanks are being recalled because of a problem- The pad under the pistol grip ( that connects the pistol grip to the main body of the tank on bottom ) is braced, and is too strong for the tank body. Now the tanks are breaking where the airbox meets the top of the gas tank ( just under where the intake boot rests ). Stihl Northwest is buying back all of these tanks, including ones that are already broken. If you look at the bottom of the tank, you'll see a criss-cross bracing pattern. Those are the dreaded tanks. And, the type of plastic used in them is no good for mending or welding.
