Muffler

I looking to by a modified muffler for my MS 441. Any help will be greatly appreciated

you should go to the "chainsaw" section. there are many threads there about muffler mods and, if you don't see what you want, just ask. lots of great help there.

The MS441 is one of the new generation of saws......and it has special ports that help reduce emmissions and make it fuel efficient. In the next couple of years most saws will have to be modified to meet new emission restrictions that will be in effect in 2010. A large number of people are stocking up and buying new saws that use the current technology - in an effort to keep the "tried and true" saws they have come to know and love.

The MS441 is a nice saw, cuts well, has low vibration and the people on this site have not figured out any modifications that make it any better. Even the simple muffler mods that work so well on other saws have not yet been recommended on the 441. You can scroll down to the chainsaw section and do a search......and you will find that the muffler mods information is probably not available for this saw.

Just get a 16 or 18 " es bar & a 9 pin rim sprocket & retire the thing to limbing . Tune it for 13500 13800 rpm . Save your money up for a 650 or 660 then dual port it. Much better than spending a lot of time & money on expermental questionable gains

An MS 441 running with a 16" bar? Are you sure that you haven't then created a Hemi 'Cuda, an Olds 442, or a Dodge Viper? Gasp!
