hay guys i want to get into milling so ive made myself a mill can you guys recommend anything i should do before i use it i need to make a guard for the tip of the bar before i even use it i know that can i use standard chain to test it as im tight with money at the moment can you tell me what chain to use and buy ??? the max cut is 32" or 36" i will need to look again tell me what yas think here is he link to it http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/205057.htm#post3802018

The Alskan mill tip guard is made from a piece of sheet steel maybe .040" thick, that is formed on the ends so that the bolts that go through the end clamp hold it in place. You can use regular full comp chain, you will get a smoother board if you file the cutters at a 0-10 deg angle.
