I got this saw for milling. It's really not so heavy out of the box. Once you add a bar and the gallon of fuel (man it takes a lot), then it'll make your arms longer.

So far I've bucked a 100' hemlock. It was perhaps 32" at the base. I think that took a whole 45 seconds to get through. Schweeet! There was a nice inclusion 3-4 inches around that was full of water. Nothing like getting soaked at the end of your cut. I was a little baffeled at the time with water squirting everywhere.

Today I tackled my 5' cedar stump. I previously whittled on it for a few hours with my MS260 / 18" bar and got nowhere. Took a whole 15 minutes and it would hit the limiter with the bar burried. I'll have to put a full comp chain on it. I was using a square chisel skip chain with a 36" bar.

Fun fun.

I loved milling with my 3120 but when I finally got my 090 together I put it on the alaskan and never looked back, both great saws but I think the 090 crushs the 3120 torque wise.

congratulations

Did you buy it on line or local. just wanted to know thinking of switching to huskys Pollock
I got it online. No sales tax that way or I would have probably stuck with a Stihl. That and the Stihl was a few hundred more to start with.

Would be nice to have an adjustable high speed jet, but I'll just drop in an EU model one. My only other complaint would be that the handle seems sorta "American" built. Sloppy weld and just a pinched end where it bolts on. My Stihl has a little more swerve.

Bailey's has them sans bar, which is kinda nice even.

Geez more torque? That'd be kinda scary. Did you mod your 3120 any? I fixed the muffler before I even started it. Too much reading up on this board.

What, no adjustable high speed on 3120??? you must be sh*tting me... ALL xp's have adjustable jets...

He's got about 20ccs on us, and engine is tuned for low speed. Great milling saw, but I'm pretty happy now.

I tell you that 090, direct drive is probably the most powerful one man saw ever made, at least as far as I know...I think it is like 137.6ccs compared to 118ccs on the 880/084/088 and 121.6ccs on the 3120. No matter what esle you do there's no replacement for displacement...and before I get flamed I realize that doesn't alwasy mean the bigger jug is the better saw...but there is some triuth in that old adage. I hope I can afford one of the 110+cc Stihls or the 3120 one day.

3120 is 119cc and 088/880 is 121.6........
