not paid, but volunteer work.
been a great experience so far, and i'm here until may 2011.
I fall snags for the Oklahoma State Parks Dept. They tell me which trail to walk - i carry a roll of flagging and a sharpie in my field vest (thanks 2Dogs!) and write my name, date, and a number on the flagging. Do that for every snag on the trail. Then the parks guys walk the trail and call me and tell me which snags not to cut, and I proceed from there.
These pics are from today's job - campground snags. Had to get that done before the spring breakers come rollin' in.
The pines are shortleaf pine - the majority of the snags in this particular state park.
