i'm getting tired of climbing and my muscles are sore. i soaked in the hot tub all night and my body still aches.

new policy: i'm going to either charge an outrageous trimming price (ex: $200 for each 20ft Palm tree) or turn it down.

No, just hirer younger people and train them and you sup. Then charge more for a real service, other than beating yourself up.

Best,
Jack

Sounds like a great policy. That should leave the work for those that are qualified and ambitious.

Do you have enough energy to make it down to the welfare office?

Some palms are worth that, don't be scared to get what they are worth.

Hey my friend try pulling vines spikeless..
I just spent 5 hrs on one tree pulling vines and it was only 30 feet tall, trimmed it up and will install light on um monday.

Yeah trimming should cost more than removals.
Hang tuff there ole painless.

who climbs palms with no spikes?

Do you use the black widow kevlar rope if you do>???
I miss palms my husky 141 is rated at 60 palms a day with spikes years ago.

snap out of it and have a glass of grapefruit juice the potassium will heal you up besides you'll get used to it plus pulling on your crapsman aint helping

It's so much easier when you have the right tools, saddles and rope. Don't be a sissy. I fractured my femor and pelvis on a Saturday and I was doing crane removals on Monday. You gotta be tuff sometimes if you wanna eat and get some asss. I sure do likes that alot.

I wish I was a roofer, Things would be alot simpler friend. Even thou I climbed to the top of trees to get away from it all, I'd like to make a pair of shoes made of it:givebeer:

OK I was doing a side job for a landscaper on a Saturday. Good friend not much of a tree guy. I was taking down a dbl lead read oak. I was working on getting the one side down. I had a peice of trunck a good 32" dia. by about 8 feet long tied on. The rope went up through a sturdy high crotch down through a limb about 15 feet out from the trunk. I cut the piece off and ground guy my buddy was just supposed to let it down into the drop zone of wood. Well the sun was in his eyes he says so he decided to hold it. I watched it coming back at me like a deer in the headlights hoping he was still gonna let it down. Well he never did. It was like getting hit by a car up against a tree. I was tears. I collected myself and got over the other side to finish taking down the remainder of the tree. It hurt for months, would put you in tears to press on it, I still feel it today when it cold out in morning.

I had no insurance at the time, going through a divorce paying way too much child support, already quit my job flying and couldn't afford to be hurt so I kept on working.

Sounds like a rough deal...everything happens at once sometimes. What do you fly? Or rather, what were you flying? Bob

I was flying a little of everything, mostly just single engine. Had a nice gig where I would fly out to different locations and service trucks part time. I was doing some co pilot work on twin turbo prop cesna conquest. That was alot fun cool plane to fly. I would fly anything I could get my hands on. The nutiest was flying with colonel who was 81 and couldn't get a medical but still owned a plane and loved to fly. The guy was a little crazy being he was an air force instrument instructor. He taught me a 0/0 localizer only approach right down to the flare under the hood that was pretty cool.
