Built big ash pit in house under fireplace, 7 ft deep, 6 ft square. 6" poured concrete wall which also supported FP stonework. Took a long time to fill as often just shoveled out the fireplace.

Emptied after heating with wood for 30 years, big fireplace, could take 1/2 pallet at at time so burned thousands of them over the years.

Ash pit was fully 50% nails!, filled the front loader bucket 3 times.

If that was me, no matter where I put that stuff or how far away, some of those nails would find their way back into my tires. Guaranteed.
