Hello,
Wanda and I are looking to buy a new wood stove for the new house we just purchased. We like the Napoleon 1900.....it is the biggest stove that Napoleon makes and it is supposed to heat 3500 sq. ft. We have a big area to heat. Does anyone on this forum burn one of these? If so, how good of a job do they do? Also, the blower unit that fits on the stove is only 100 CFM....that seems a little weak. If anyone has the blower unit, how good do they work ?????? Thanks for any help you can give us !!!!!

You will be happy with it for sure. I have the 1400 and 2 other familly members have the 1900. We all have the blowers with the thermal shut off and start up sensor. The stoves perform very well but we all have a hard time keeping the glass clean without waping it manually?? I heat a 2000 sq ft 2 story home no problem with mine ! Also got to watch the baffles inside the stove at the top , if you ram wood in there and hit them they will eventually need to be replaced but they are not to expensive around 35 bucks canadian i've had to replace mine once over 4 winters but now i know i should be good!!!!
The stoves are made right here in Ontario Canada !! Thats what made me look into them!!

We've had a 1900 for about 4 seasons and like it very much. We have the blower unit but it quit working after the 2nd season. I didn't like it much anyway--it seemed to vibrate the sheet metal enclosure on the back of the stove and was very annoying. Even though some on here would diasagree, I installed a magic heat unit last year and think it is the best money I ever spent. They do require some extra cleaning but I think the benefits far exceed the need for a little extra maintenance.

I've had my 1900 for four years and love it. My 3500 sq ft house stays very warm and the 3 cu foot fire box makes cutting, splitting, stacking a lot easier (22 inches deep, 20 (?) wide 9(?) tall. I burn from Halloween to May - about a cord a month.

Regarding the deteriorating baffles problem, this is true. They do "go" after the second year. But they can be replaced for $9 with four 4x9x1 fire brick. In fact the stove was originally designed to have fire brick baffles instead of vermiculite but some complained that it smoked too much until it got to temperature. I'd don't have that problem at all and always burn in the 400-550 range (sometimes up to 700 degrees).

I would buy another one of these stoves. But if Napoleon made a bigger one, I would buy it instead. These stove are simple, beautiful and easy to maintain. I get all my replacement parts from:

Very nice people.

I bought the blower after the second year and it does make a tremendouse difference. Had I known I would have bought it from the beginning.

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but hope someone can help.

Bought a house with a Napoleon 1900.

I'm replacing broken bricks. They used bricks instead of baffles, that's fine. But they had two bricks thick in the very back by the flu? Should I put back 2 bricks stacked on top of each other? Or just one layer of bricks across the top leaving a gap?

Welcome to the forum.
Not sure about what you should do but I found an owner's manual for my model Napoleon in the official on line site and it included how to arrange all of the brick inside my stove.
