I tried something new on a square filed chain that I dulled. I don't have a grinder to square grind, but I set my grinder up to grind a 20 degree top angle and 95 degree side angle, and ground the entire chain back until I had a good cutter corner. Then I hand square filed the chain, using the ground angles as a reference. I took just enough off with the file to bring the top plate and side plate to a sharp edge. It sure sped up what otherwise would have been a lot of filing, and the resulting angles are much more consistant. It also served to clean out the gullet without hand filing it out.
