Got this machine but missing the guts around engine to operate .....so called bee hive ....pulley at engine ....guess more stuff.....around pulley on engine....spacer......belt to next shaft...and cover.. all we got is plastic spyder gear goes to hydraulic pump guess mounted/connected end engine shaft to operate hydraulics.
Have not got to pricing but me thinks alot of dough and possibly difficulty...seen normally equiped with 25-27-30hp Kohler...seen deal on WISCONSIN V465D but think that has 2 inch shaft vs Kohler that had 1 7/16
Its a 1994 machine.....just joined the forum to get some insight as my search for outside the box or to go the right road thru dealer........looks limited and would guess going to have to travel that way ........was thinking could run hydraulic motor off one engine and run machine with chain off another......although constantly running safety issue possibly...like to hear anyone got any knowledge with this machine..
Thanks

Take it to the scrapyard. Use the money you get for it, to help with your downpayment on an operating/useable machine.
That project is going to be a money pit before you are all done with it. IF, you ever do get done with it.

Have seen you have a 44 Hp Kubota diesel.....how big is the shaft on that thing?

The stub shaft on a 33hp or 44hp Kubota is an 1 1/2". The grinder you have was only designed for a 25 to 27hp engine only. When you go to a 33hp or bigger you'll have to change the following:

-Engine Mount
-Jack Shaft and Jack Shaft Bearings to 1 11/16"
-Cutter Wheel Shaft and Shaft Bearings to 1 11/16"
-New Drive Belt
-Upper and Lower Poly Chain Sprockets and Bushings
-New Poly Chain Belt

The shafts and bearings can't handle the additional torque of the diesel engine and you take the risk of breaking them. If I we're you, I would take it back to factory specs and play it safe. The cost involved in adding additional horsepower doesn't make good business sense as you can see what's involved.

Hope this helps!

minus a few parts ...have hydraulic pump and spider gear for 1 7/16 shaft..think pump mounting plate

I think that's the best route to take. It would be too much money to convert the grinder to a higher horsepower. If you need any grinder teeth in the future, give me a call.

Thanks,

If I bought everything on the list its 100 dollars shy of 2 thousand...and like say have some parts...could keep it to essentials to setup the machine for around $700..........course still got to find and buy the motor

will buy Kohler 25-27-29 and parts to get going engine pully for shaft bushing and front coupler to pump and beehive to connect
looking for engine regularly .....much better understanding of setup now
