I have searched the books and site and am still at a loss. I took it up to a nusery, they said it was a blue holly but I disagree. There is a crapload of different hollies. I would take a pic of the branch I had but I left it up at the nursery by accident. I am getting nowhere fast.:confused2:

So, get the pic's and then ask for help! Duh! :msp_confused:

Yeah, well, uh, I was kinda thinkin you might know a different ID website or something... and would be so gracious enough to tell me... yer grace.

My sources say:

The HO planted a group of these trees but the leaves are different from what is called the blue. There is few kinds of blue holly. I was thinking that these trees ( maybe 12) were the male version ( Jeff's pic looks to be the female) , they had no berries when I looked but the HO said they had berries in the past. There are other types of holly around the place though.
Also, the deer are not eating this tree in question but they pretty much ate everything else. In fact, the HO is so concerned about the deer he has a perimeter set up that makes a constant high pitched whistle. Its nuts.
So he wants about 30 more of these trees that the deer aren't eating. He wants to use them to block the deer:msp_blink:
The main thing is that whatever holly is planted it has be like the others that the deer won't eat. I didn't seen evidence of deer chew but deer are funny, maybe they don't eat them for some odd reason. In most cases deer eat anything if they are hungry enough. Sure, people say that deer won't eat certain plants but that don't mean its true. I am thinking of maybe propogating what is there to ensure the HO gets the exact same tree, at least that will cover my ass if the deer change their eating habits. This would also be a whole lot cheaper considering 30 holly trees 4 feet high are about 3K to buy locally. I could go further out to a wholesaler but I can't be driving around unless I know for a fact that the trees are the same as what is there.

Does it look anything like this:

The leaves on what I have are quite smaller. I was thinking maybe it was a little leaf version. I was thinking it is some oddball cultivar, maybe a new one. I just want to be extra sure.
What I said to the HO was that it looked like blue but the real small leaves had me thinking I should verify it as much as possible... with the help of my good buddies here at Arboristsitedotcom.
The guy at the nursery even mentioned the leaves looked small. The trees are about 12 foot.

Not it but thanks. I am looking for other varities to look at . I am sure I don't know every tree out there and want to cover all the bases just to be sure.
I mean what I have is most likely a blue holly but there might be some cultivar of it and it just might make the difference if the deer are gonna eat it.
Maybe the leaves on my specimen are smaller for reasons such as:
1. trauma
2. not enough nutrients
3. maturity
4 special cultivar breeding
5. who the #### knows
